Video: In this video, I’m going to tell you what the healthiest country in the world is for anti aging and living the longest. Also, I’m going to tell you the reasons why these people are living longer. The country where people are the healthiest and living the longest is Japan. In Japan, according to the world health organization, the average life expectancy is 84.5 years old.The 2019 Bloomberg Healthiest Country Index, which is largely based on external factors and projected life expectancy and not how long people are actually living, ranked Japan as #4. Of The top 100 oldest people living in the world, 26 of them are from Japan. An island in Japan called Okinawa, has the highest concentration of people living over 100 years old in the world. Okinawa is one of the worlds blue zones. Blue zones are where a large percentage of people live to 100 years old. Most Japanese people are able to live up to age 75 completely healthy and without disabilities. Compared to the rest of the world, Japan has one of the lowest rates of age related diseases including diabetes, cancer, Alzheimers, arthritis, heart disease and high blood pressure. If these numbers were not impressive already, the trend in Japan keeps improving. An analysis published in 2015, showed that in the past 10-15 years disabilities, chronic medical conditions and mortality rates have improved significantly. By the way, if you’re wondering where the United States ranked on the Bloomberg healthiest country list, it was #35. The main reason is people being overweight, almost half, 40% of the US are considered obese. Their body mass index, a measure of a person’s weight relative to their height, is above 30. In Japan only an incredible 5% have a BMI above 30. Why are so many Americans overweight. It’s mostly because of a bad diet consisting of processed and packaged foods, fast foods and lack of exercise. Why are the Japanese living so long? They practice many healthy habits daily. They exercise, take walks, enjoy gardening and spend time in social gatherings. But The biggest reason is what they eat. The main part of their meals usually contain fish. They eat a lot of raw fish and sushi. Fish is a high protein food that contains a lot of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, iron, zinc, magnesium and calcium. Fish has been shown to improve blood pressure, reduce cardiovascular disease, strokes and are healthy for your brain. Along with all the fish, Japanese are eating vegetables, particularly sea vegetables like seaweed. Seaweed is added to sushi, soups, stews and salads. Seaweed and vegetables in general are loaded with fiber, vitamins and minerals. Another big part of the Japanese diet is drinking green tea. Green tea contains antioxidants and nutrients that have powerful effects on the body.
